Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 8 am–9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. No phone number is listed for this business, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best route for directions and any contact details Google has on file. Nice little Peruvian style cafe. That is actually not easy to find. You can find Peruvian restaurants and even bakeries but not often cafes. They have specially sourced Peruvian coffee beans that they use on some of their drinks. I am no coffee expert, so I can't quite rate how fresh or good those coffee beans or any of their coffee is, but I can rate the food at least. The interior is medium-sized and decorations minimalistic outdoors-style. The parking is really small and it can get quite busy very quickly actually. There have been a few times where I could not find space inside to sit down. I suppose it adds to the reputation of their food or coffee. There is plenty of parking in the back of the building and at the nearby shopping plaza. Beef Empanada (Peruvian) 9.3/10 - One of the best Peruvian empanadas I have tried. Most mess it up. Preparing the dough well takes a lot of time and effort, but they nail it here. The dough is beautifully crunchy but not too much. The sauce it came with was like a harissa sauce, which I felt was a bit odd to mix for an empanada. My only wish is for a slightly larger size and some more flavor on the beef. The beef was definitely flavorful and had

My oat milk cappuccino had a great silky texture. Was offered two sizes and went with a traditional 8oz. The chicken empanada…. wow. So good. Pairs so well with the sauce. I liked that although a lot of people were in working remotely in the shop, it wasn’t too quiet inside. Lots of people chatting. The set up inside makes for a nice place to hang out. All in all a great local artisanal spot worth checking out.

The place was super clean and the staff was inviting. Rodrigo was my cashier and he was so helpful in choosing from the selection of lunch food. I got the breakfast flatbread with pesto added, so good!!! Rodrigo even gave me a Diet Coke for free. Thank you for your hospitality! This place has a great atmosphere and plenty of seating and nooks to get all your work or studying done!

Awesome place and even better being so close to my work. Fantastic selection of baked items and desserts. The guava and cheese pastry was amazing. And even better the latte was delicious. The lady who took and prepared my order was welcoming and friendly. I will be back! **** Only comment I will make is that there were two dogs inside from a customer. The dogs were barking and came to me when I walked in. Unless they are service dogs, they are not permitted to be inside in North Carolina and considering how they were barking and came to me at the door, I do not think they were service dogs. The store should be aware and should enforce this.

Sumaq is my favorite coffee shops in the Arrowwood Area of Charlotte! I came here after landing in Charlotte when I needed a place to work remotely before checking into my hotel. The atmosphere was very bright, clean, and welcoming. Plenty of comfy seating and places to eat/work. I had a decaf Americano and I tried the beef and chicken empaΓ±adas and everything I had was fantastic! The people were very polite and friendly and this is a great place to meet for a business meeting, working remotely, or meeting a friend to catch up. I will be coming back when I'm in Charlotte again!
